After much waiting, my bridal pictures are finally complete!!!! Check it out here..... www.miaka2405.multiply.com

Once a while, I hear people on how their wedding is very complicated due to the customs that their parents or in laws want, I feel very lucky that I do not have to go through all these. My parents just want me to have a blissful and happy marriage and all these customs of requesting for this and that from in laws or giving us certain special things with special meanings basically meant nothing at all. I really thank and appreciate my parents for their understanding. Of my 28 years so far, it was during the past few days that I really appreciate them, is it because I am slowly planning to have my own family that I feel that I am 'leaving' them in a way? But whatever it is, I know that they will always be there for me and me for them. Nothing beats having a warm and harmonious family and I thank Lord for blessing me with them!

床头灯

It's a half day today but if we were to take annual leave today, it's 1 FULL day deducted from our entitlement!!!! Crap right???? I have decided to skip the xmas lunch organise for our dept today for 2 reasons:-

1) I not 'gian' to eat this free meal from this company

2) I am meeting mum, aunt, sis and hubby at chinatown to have lunch at Yum Cha!!! Yummy!

After a hearty lunch of 虾饺, 烧卖, 皮蛋粥, 纸包鸡, 肠粉, 叉烧包 and more, we head to walk around chinatown as mum wanted to buy me and bc a pair of 床头灯 for our wedding. Cute???

My 3 'darlings'!!! (Pooh is a present from my mum!)

Monday, December 17, 2007

Passed by a petshop yesterday and this small Persian kitten was meowing at us since she saw us. So cute!!! FOr a moment, BC was really thinking of getting the kitten on an impulse since he finds that we and the kitten was like fated to meet. After checking out the price of the kitten and considering the stuffs we need to buy to keep the kitten, it is just not affordable at this time....... Maybe we can only consider after our wedding is over.

Today is another family day for me. Meet my family for lunch (to celebrate dad's and mine birthday) at United Square. Even though the food wasn't that fantastic and comes with a not so worthy price tag, it was still good times spent. After which, we went to City Hall Robinson to get some stuffs, it was so so crowded!!!! Xmas sale mah, sure alot of people. Got my dad a polo tee shirt and mum bought us a brand new bedsheet for our wedding. BC did not want to have a red bedsheet set (usually the case for weddings) so we ended by buying a brown and navy blue one. Since mum and dad not 'pan dang' and feels it's fine, then it's ok.

Then we headed down to bridal shop to choose 2 bridesmaid dresses, dad's jacket and best man jacket. I told them that I want the 2 of them to wear at least the same colour and need not same design and thank goodness for their slim build, it wasn't difficult to find 2 same dresses for them in the same colour. And my wedding album is ready!!!! But the table top pic and 3 8R pics in 1 frame is still not ready, so they have yet to pass me my soft copies....... But me being the 'bo liao' one, has decided to take some pics from the album (using a camera and snap pics of the album!). Hahahahaha.

Today we finally went to the printer to print our cards....... But the original Printer A whom we booked appointment with is a big time screw up! I called him for an appointment 2 days ago to inform him we will be coming down to see him today at 2pm and he said ok. When we arrive, he is not around, and his one and only staff who look super blur (only asking us to choose cards and did not advise us what to write in the cards) told us that he is not coming into office today. When I called his hp, it was an overseas ringing tone and he did not answered my call!!! WTH!!! I sms-ed him and told him that we had an appointment with him and he is not here and that we purposely took leave to come down and what we got is total unprofessionalism!

I quickly got Printer B contact no. from Ros and head now to their office. During the times when we were on the cab, Printer A called me and I ignored his call. He replied and say that his staff will help me and I told him that we are going to another printer so it's ok. Luckily we went to Printer B...... Even though he has lesser card designs as compared to Printer A, at least he advise us what to write in our card and how to write them. So we just confirmed him on the spot. Yeah, that is 1 item strike off from our To-Do List. Next will be to confirm the caterer, I have placed my order online and hve indicated them to give me a call as I am looking to change some items from the menu, once that is done, another item strike off!

Panic attack

Last night was the 2nd time that I dreamt that I screw up something on my wedding. The 1st nightmare came like few nights ago. I dreamt that I did not sent out the wedding invitations and I did not inform the priest and singer when is my wedding, thus I ended up in a church full of guests but no one to hold my wedding for me!

Last night I dreamt that I forgot my wedding date and I end up not knowingly which date to inform my guests to come for my wedding......... Gosh, it was horrible!!!!

My Hero!

The 'Hero' movie is out!!! Yes!!! Takuya is still yummy as ever and the story is still meaningful as it was as a TV serial. Although it's not as attractive as any other Hollywood movie, it still attracted my attention with all the funny scenes and touching scenes.

Takuya's role is public prosecutor, Kohei Kuryu went all way out to find evidences to prosecute the guilty and gain the help of his fellow colleagues in his office. It sets me thinking........ I don't think I can work like that. Haha...... Maybe Kuryu enjoyed his work and finds meaning in it thus he has the undying euthusiasm and endless flow of energy devoted to his work. How many people now can find this kind of satisfaction in their job that make them proud of what they do and thus finds meaning in it???? I tell you what made people proud of their job, PAY! Yes, it's all about the money. No money, no talk. No talk, no food, no food, no energy. Plain and simple. Haha.

After 10 months of having lessons on every Thursday evening, the journey finally ended and BC was baptised yesterday. I think the journey has just started for him as a Catholic. There are still more for us to learn and grow in.

As usual, Fr Richards always will have alot of people in his class and thus the number of people getting baptised is also close to 100. The whole ceremony took about 2.5 hrs and there are so many people. There were even people coming in with professional camera (big, long lens and big flashes) and as usual been kiasu Singaporeans, all will rush to the front to take their pics and block everyone's views!!!! Pls!!!! There is such a thing as ZOOM right????

Saturday, November 17, 2007

Attended Jay's church wedding today and it was a simple and sweet affair. I have never seen Jay smiled so much! Haha, Jay, you should smile more lah, face black black not handsome leh. Their bridal pictures are very well taken and I personally feel it's worth the money, even though in the 1st place I don't think I would even be willing to spend so much on them. But whatever it is, what matters most is the couple enjoyed the whole process and ultimately have a blissful marriage ahead.

The cost of living in Singapore is getting higher...... my 1.5 months' supply of disposable lens has price increase of about 10%, hair cut increase by almost 20%, even a bag of oats increase by 20% too! What the hell is going on???? Even TODAY mention that we might be having the highest inflation rate ever in 25 years history, but what can we expect except pay more and more. How come I don't see our pay increasing linearly?????? Bloody hell...............

Praise the Lord!

After more than a year, BC finally went for his 2nd eye operation to remove the cataract from his left eye. The blurred and uneven vision with his left and right eye has been bothering him for the past 1 year and it's finally time to settle this matter, especially before our wedding. BC has been postponing the operation due to the trauma he went through after the complication after his right eye op last year. The bad pain and headache that he went through last year has been putting the idea of the left eye op since he does not wish to go through it again. But thank God, his operation today is a success!!! Not only did he not experience pain like before, but he was able to see clearly!!! The previous time, he could not see until 1 week later!

Believe it or not

I have heard so much about couples not able to control the number of photos that they want for their wedding album and end up topping up additional pictures. And the minimum number of hours that they spend at the bridal shop comes to up usually 3 hours.

Guess how long me and BC took yesterday???? We took about 1.5 hours to choose 28 pictures as per our package stipulate and also decided on the frames of our 3 in 1 portrait and table top. We also confirmed the skin of our album....... The lady helping us with the selection must be super disappointed that she can't earn any extra commission from us since we sticked to our stipulated number of pictures per our package and also no topping up to make it a magazine style or increase our 10R album to 15R. We are so proud of ourselves! Haha.

Bridal photoshoot

Today is the day of our bridal photshoot. To prepare for this day, I literally 'suffered' the night before. Even though I was hungry, I don't dare to eat because I'm afraid of bloatedness. Even though I was thirsty, I don't dare to drink too much water because I was scare of water retention and have puffy eyes. Even though I was super tired, I have to do my sheet mask to make sure my skin is supple and hydrated the next day. Luckily I was able to sleep because for one reason or another, I was deadbeat. Haha.

Arrived at Z Wedding at 10am and the 'ritual' starts. Thick makeup, changing of 5 outfits and hairstyles......... The photographer commented that me and BC are abit stiff initially, like taking passport photos! Haha. But a few shoots, we start to be abit used to how we need to pose, where to put our hands and all.

Thank God that today was not a rainy day and it was not extremely hot also. We headed to this 'wu lo' place at Alexandra to take pictures of greenery and there were also a few couples who were there. Walking up and down the slope in heels is really no joke. Luckily my outdoor heels is only $26.90!!!! Our next destination was somewhere at Queensway, to take along the railway tracks...... also another couple there. Pose, pose, pose, smile, smile, smile, then it's towards Sentosa for the pictures of the beach!

By the time we reach back Z wedding at 615pm, me and BC are tired and dehydrated........ Luckily out photographer is someone who takes pics that are nice and necessary and not those who kept snapping like no tomorrow and end up confusing the couples to choose so so so many pics for their albums. Haha. I like chop-chop especially when we don't intend to top much much pics.

Photshoot is finally over.... We need to start planning our church wedding and actual day programs soon.......

My 1st costume, kwa! Surprisingly I like this style! Haha

My makeup for outdoor shoot......thick hor?

Enjoying our yummy korean dinner after photoshoot

Opps! Where did the food goes to?

Tomorrow is my photoshoot....... wah..... I really wonder how would I look in the pictures. I think more fat than anything, hahahahahaha. But it will definitely be a tiring day since we have to smile and pose the whole day. I hope the weather will be good (not too hot and not rainy as well)...... Must pray for good weather today.

Resident Evil: Extinction

This is really a good movie. Made me super gan cheong at my seat and BC who was sitting next to me made me promise that I will buy him a new Polo tee in the event that I have over-stretched his right sleeves (which I am pulling at times during those sudden scary scenes), haha. This show is definitely worth a weekend price of movie ticket and lucky for us, this movie is free because my dept gave us a pair of free Eng Wah movie voucher. Hehe.

Alice (Milla Jovovich) is really hot, hot, HOT! Even with the unglam clothings and messy hair, her complexion still looks completely flawless and coupled with excellent figure of hers, need I say more???

Even though it's not something true (Thank God!), this movie shows the evil side of humanity whereby some stupid ambition and experimentation of human causes the downfall of the human race.

Bought this pair of cheap white heels for my outdoor photoshoot! $26.90 only!!! Hahaha.

My wedding heels!

I previously wanted to buy a pair of 3.5 inch ivory heels for my wedding gown. But it is SO SO SO difficult to find one of my size and within my budget.......... I also do not want to resort to custom made since I know that the possibility of me wearing my ivory heels after the wedding will be quite low........

Finally decided to settle for a pair of silver heels since it is so much easier to find and I bought this!!!! And guess what??? I have the same pair of heels in the same shoe size as my forum friend, E who also have the same birthday as me!!!!!

My Gucci wallet that I bought end of last year has peeling sides now!!!! My goodness, it's not as if I throw my wallet around or what but it sure doesn't last as well........ Hiaz..... Still LV more reliable, last at least 5 years (like the previous one I had). Now I'm aiming for this wallet, at least it has more compartment then my previous LV wallet!

Gone with the...........

It's gone, definitely gone......... I'll have you back!

Cute??

Have been looking for a coaster for my mug in office, saw this cute rubbery coaster at Kalm's and decide to get it! And it has a sheep there!

The property market has been booming for quite a while and I kept seeing news of how much the properties these days can fetch and also heard from friends on how much they are earning from renting out their place. To me, renting out my place is the LAST thing on my mind especially when I just renovated it and now enjoying the privacy of staying on our own. But alas, for one reason or another, I had a nightmare last night that BC rented out our place at a super high price without my consent and we had to stay with his mum!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO........... When I woke up, I'm glad it was just a dream........

Selections

Finally settled my wedding gown, outdoor gown and evening gown for my photoshoot! It was tiring! One word of advice to the ladies out there who have yet to get married:

Go with your girlfriends for the selection! Your hubby to be will not contribute any except the black face!

I actually selected the gowns last week but was very very unhappy with the outdoor gown (which i selected under duress after seeing BC's black face) that I request to go down and reselect the outdoor gown again. This time round, I'm smarter, I found 2 girlfriends to go down with me and it was more enjoyable!

Finally found it! Happy!

Shall give a preview of my wedding gown........ the train ONLY! Haha.

God's signs

Sometimes when there are signs in front of me, I wonder what it means? Should I think it to be what I think it is or should I be skeptical and think further to think if I think too much? These few days, me and BC have been bumping into people whom we lose touch for sometimes and somehow or another, we still meet them again and again with no prior arrangements........ I wonder what is God trying to tell us...........

Home made popcorn!!!

Sunday, July 15, 2007

I was so nervous this morning when I was preparing to church for my confirmation ceremony. As the Archbishop will be anointing us, somehow I felt quite nervous. I was supposed to reach the church by 11am and I was still trying to get a cab at that time. I was so scare that I'm unable to register in time and won't get to be confirmed today. Luckily, I made it in time at abt 1110am (but was the last few). I kept rehearsing in my head what are the sentences that the Archbishop will say and my response. The feeling I had during the ceremony is no difference to how I felt during my baptism ceremony...... anticipation.......... and more anticipation.

Work this week is just hectic. The quarter-end forecasting exercise is driving me nuts. Not only did the forecasted numbers not come in on time for our review, the numbers are way above the budget which makes our review all the more difficult. Hiaz....... work is getting tough now liao......

Monday, July 9, 2007

I still remember watching an episode of a TV serial "Touched by An Angel" called "Psalm 151" during my retreat last year when I was preparing for my baptism. The episode talks about a sick and dying young boy who has a list of things that he would like to do before he dies. One of the task he would like to complete is to hear the song that his mother has started when she was expecting him but has yet to complete as she was extremely sad to know her son is very sickly and became angry with God. The angels came and together with his best friend and neighbours, they managed to help him fulfil one task by one task, except for the uncomplete song. Eventually, his mum still managed to complete the song and praising Lord as she would like to tell the world about her son's love for life in this world. She named this song "Psalm 151" and sang the song to her son in their garden together with their neighbours with the ending that the boy dies with a smile on his face and the angels bring him up the Heaven.

It was an extremely touching show that 99% of us who watched the show were tearing like nobody's business. Father Richards posted us this question, "What are the things that you would like to do before you die?". To date, I have not found any answer to this question.

Anyway, I really like the song that the mother sang in the show and it's actually called "Testify To Love".........

All the colours of the rainbow
All the voices of the wind
Every dream that reaches out
That reaches out to find where love begins

Every word of every story
Every star in every sky
Every corner of creation
Lives to testify

For as long as I shall lives
I will testify to love
I'll be a witness in the silences
When words are not enough
With every breath I take
I will give thanks to God above
For as long as I shall lives
I will testify to love

From the mountains to the valleys
From the rivers to the seas
Every hand that reaches out
Every hand that reaches out to offer peace

Every simple act of mercy
Every step to kingdom come
All the hope in every heart will
Speak what love has done

For as long as I shall lives
I will testify to love
I'll be a witness in the silences
When words are not enough
With every breath I take
I will give thanks to God above
For as long as I shall lives
I will testify to love

Transformers

Another excellent. excellent movie that I enjoyed myself very much for this weekend. It was so many years ago when I saw Transformer cartoon. Seeing the Transformers changed from / to trucks and cars in 2D cartoon is really nothing like watching the 'real' thing (created by computer graphics) on the big screen. We bought tickets to the digital version of the movie and the colour and sound effect was really great. Everything seems brighter in terms of colour and clearer in terms of sound.

Optimus Prime, the leader of Autobots was really cool!!!!! The big blue and red truck is just so cool looking. And the voice is sexily LOW........ (hahahahahah!)

The evil looking Megatron, leader of the Decepticons looks like an evil spirit with the red eyes and sharp teeth. You sure you are a robot????? Hahahaha.

ROLLOUT!!

The weather these few days is horrible....... I came out from a cold shower and I'm already sweating like mad! Doesn't gives me much motivation to go anywhere or do anything.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is opening next month and I'm only halfway through the book. I'm targetting to finish the book before I catch the movie next month since I know that once I have watched the movie, the probability of me going back to finish the book is NIL!!!!

It's Jay's ROM last Friday and I'm really happy for him. He and Dee Dee has been through quite a bit and finally they going to tie the knot. I wish them all the best and hope that we can expect little Ashley or Zacherary to join them soon!

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

Attended E's wedding yesterday evening with the forum kakis and it was fun gathering and gossipping and chit chatting. Mumsy is pregnant with her 2nd baby and it's a boy! (1st child is an angelic girl), Piggy is not with us yesterday night and she is pregnant too! The ladies at the table asked me and BC whether I am looking to our wedding next Jan. Frankly, a part of me is not looking forward to it and a part of me is.

I am not looking forward to it because there are so much logistics and planning to do and not to mention that everything is so expensive. And frankly, I already considered myself married, just that I have not wore a bridal gown and get out the of house (which is what my parents want). At the same time, I am looking forward to it not because I am excited to walk down the church aisle in my bridal gown with the choir singing at the background, but because I want to get this over and done with. This matter is hindering in my plans for other matters whether financially or mentally and I just hate it. I do not feel the least excited and looking forward that it's my wedding day but I find it more frustrating that there is alot of things that I cannot do or even plan on doing because of this stupid event!

At The Beginning (By Richard Marx & Donna Lewis)

We were strangers, starting out on a journey
Never dreaming, what we’d have to go through
Now here we are, I’m suddenly standing
At the beginning with you

No one told me I was going to find you
Unexpected, what you did to my heart
When I lost hope, you were there to remind me
This is the start

And life is a road that I wanna keep going
Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey
I’ll be there when the world stops turning
I’ll be there when the storm is through
In the end I wanna be standing
At the beginning with you

We were strangers on a crazy adventure
Never dreaming, how our dreams would come true
Now here we stand, unafraid of the future
At the beginning with you

And life is a road that I wanna keep going
Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey
I’ll be there when the world stops turning
I’ll be there when the storm is through
In the end I wanna be standing
At the beginning with you

Knew there was somebody, somewhere
A new love in the dark
Now I know my dream will live on
I’ve been waiting so long
Nothing’s gonna tear us apart

And life is a road that I wanna keep going
Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey
I’ll be there when the world stops turning
I’ll be there when the storm is through
In the end I wanna be standing
At the beginning with you

Yeah

Life is a road that I wanna keep going on
Love is a river, I wanna keep going
Starting out on a journey
Life is a road that I wanna keep going
Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing
In the end I wanna be standing
At the beginning with you

Passion

I saw an episode of Oprah Winfrey Show and they had women coming up to the show and tell people how they were able to look MUCH younger than their actual age. Imagine a 70 year old lady who looked like in her 40s and a 40 year of lady who look not older than 30! My goodness, they definitely had not gone under the knife as they have the natural look with some wrinkles and all but still not old and wrinkled enough for people to tell their real age. When interviewed about how they maintain their youth, all of them talked about being at peace with themselves and how they are doing something that they have a passion about.

How i envy them........ they actually are able to be at peace with themselves and be engaged in something that they have passion about. How can I feel likewise???? I am not at peace with myself because I am not happy with the way I look, not happy with the money that I am earning, not happy with my lifestyle...... Is it just me that is the problem? Passion........ my passion has always been in makeup and reading, but it's just not something that I can throw down everything that I have and go for..........

How can I be at peace with myself?????? Someone enlighten me!!!!

SIGH

Sometimes when we see something that we have always wish for, is it a sign that we should accept or stubbornly ignore due to our pride?

I think I would choose to ignore, not because of my pride but because some people are just too selfish. THEY CAN ALL GO DIE FOR ALL I CARE!

Sunday, May 27, 2007

Another relaxing weekend............ I like my weekend to be slow paced and I have time to slowly do my things instead of just rushing here and there like no tomorrow. On Saturday, we managed to get out of the house at about 1pm after the weekly house cleaning & furniture delivery to catch Pirates of the Carribean 3: At World's End. It was quite a good show but there were some slow paced scenes in the middle of the movie which bored me quite a bit. Since we were at Marina Square and we haven't really walked around the area after it's renovation, we decided to spend some time walking around and I got my Nike capris there.

Today was good as we went to have our dim sum brunch at Great World City after church, followed by a nice cup of teh c and french toast. It just feels good to take our pace slow after 5 days of slogging and rushing for work......

Great Singapore Sale

It has been a few years since I shopped during Great Singapore Sale and this year, surprisingly, I managed to get a few good buys during the 1st 3 days of the GSS!

Itti & Otto heels at 10% discount (to replace my super comfy Itti & Otto heels that I wore almost everyday to work!)

Agnes B bag at 10% off (to put my gym stuffs)

Nike capri at 40% off!!!! (it's time to hit the gym!!!)

Spider-Man 3

Another great movie for the year, Spider-Man 3!!!! I just love comic-adapted movie, maybe because I love reading comics and their special powers are just amazing. Imagine I can fly around like them with amazing reflex movements, wah!!!

I personally felt that Spider-Man series so far has been good. Entertained me throughout the whole show. But the ending was sad though, I actually cried. Definitely a show worth watching, 4 out of 5 popcorn!!!

Home Sweet Home

I'm finally home........ Touched down on Sat morning at about 1230am as the flight was delayed by about 45mins. By the time I reached Singapore, I was feeling tired than ever. But it feels great to be back home and in the comfort of my own house and room. This weekend is a strictly ONLY REST days for me since I did not managed to get any rest last weekend due to the Engaged Encounter programme and then I was straight off to HK. Damn..... I still feeling tired and the stupid hot and humid weather of Singapore is killing me!

Friday, April 27, 2007

Coming home!!!!

After 4 nights in HK and I barely enjoyed myself, it's finally the day to come home. I think I must be the only freak who did not enjoy myself much in HK. I dislike the cramp-ness of the streets and the expensive cost of living here. Did not manage to shop much as the stuffs here are either available in Sin or expensive.

After a few days of cloudy and rainy weather, it is finally sunny again........... I still prefer Taiwan's weather since HK's weather is no difference from Sin......

Food wise is quite good though, IF you find a good 茶餐厅. I still remembered eating a horrible plate of curry fried hor fun. When I placed my order for this item, my impression was a plate of fried hor fun that is fried with curry. It turns out it was a plate of plain white fried hor fun served with a separate bowl of curry!!!! That was the worst food I even eaten during my stay here. I decided to go back to another 茶餐厅 that I tried when I arrived the 1st day and thank goodness for me, I found 'heaven' again, haha.
Yummy fried 一丁noodles in XO sauce with pork chop!

Cheap heels which I do not know if the quality is good............

Old friends

KW and his wife has been working in HK for close to 2 years and it has been a long time since I last met him (since I was unable to attend his wedding in Jan this year due to my house renovation). Decided to contact him beforehand that I am coming down to HK for 5 days and see if he is free to meet up. Coincidentally, A is also here for work!!! Haha, GREAT!!!

Met up with A, KW and his wife yesterday for a sumptous dinner that KW brought us. We had fried hor fun, roasted pigeon, portugese chicken curry, braised chicken wings and finally a gigantic souffle!!!!! This souffle is huge and it looks like a loaf of bread! Don't believe??? Look at the picture below!
Notice that the souffle is as big as our face (COMBINED)????

The dinner did not just ended with the giant souffle. Next stop is the famous 许留山!!!! I was just complaining to KW that when they previously had the store at International Building, the desserts is just horribly expensive. I still rememebered a mango sago thingy with pomelo and a fruit platter thingy cost us a ridculous price of S$21!!!! And here, we get a reasonable price for HKD20 - HKD35!!!! I opted for the mini platter consisting of mango muah chee, mango puree thingy with mini rice balls and mango ice-cream with shredded jelly. Yummy!

Cheap and nice!

We chatted until almost 11pm before we realised that we have to make our way back to the hotel....... It's just great to meet up with friends when you are overseas. KW said that in future if me and BC has plans to come to HK, let him know and he and his wife can be our tour guides!!!

Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Arrived in HK yesterday at about 1pm....... And I after taking the airport express train and shuttle bus to Kowloon Shang-Ri La hotel, it's almost 3pm!!!! Ok, I'm not going into office liao! Haha.

Walked around my hotel area at Tsim Sha Tsui and there are nothing much to see actually but they have alot of night clubs and eateries...... Tried the lunchean meat & fried egg 工仔面 for dinner and it taste ok...... But their 奶茶 is fantastic!!!! Milky with enough tea intensity! Good! *thumbs up*

Bought my breakfast for today and had a walk along Avenue of Stars (looking across at HK Island) and the scenery is really good..........

Catholic Engaged Encounter

BC and I went for the Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) last weekend and it was really great. Not only does it identify practical issues that we need to take note of now, but they also make the couple iron these issues during the weekend. There were alot of in-depth discussions between couples and I find it extremely useful since I hardly voice out what I really feel to BC and vice versa.

But it was a tough weekend to go through. It's physically tiring (because we have to wake up like 7am everyday and sleep at close to 12 mignight) and mentally tiring (because we are also discussing and talking about some practical issues).

But the fantastic part about this programme is that most couple seems more loving after the end of this programme. Have you been in a room whereby 32 couples are so much in love and you can feel the love in this room???? I have experienced this during this weekend..........

Bang!

At 5am this morning, we woke up to a loud crashing sound of breaking glass. Me and BC quickly woke up and went out of our room to see what is going on. End up, the clock that we bought from Ikea previously dropped to the floor! The stupid 3M hook that claim to be how strong has gave way....... Not only I have to buy a new clock, I have to repaint the edges of my wall due to the scratches made by the clock when it dropped down to the floor...... There goes my 1 night of good sleep.

Thank goodness!

After a few months of weekend cleaning, enough is enough for me and I have decided to engage a part time cleaner's help. Not only do I enjoy cleanliness in the comfort of my home, I do not need to lift a finger to get this cleanliness. She is very thorough in her cleaning and it certainly makes the $10 per hour worth to the maximum. I cannot say how happy I am now that I have some help, hehe.

It was our monthly gathering for the forum ladies and this time it's at my place. Felt quite bad that I was not able to prepare much food and I do feel that I have been a terrible host..... Hiaz......so paiseh. But we still enjoyed the usual gossiping and chit chatting and it was just great. Next round should be at Snowflo's place and we will be trying her smoothies!!!!!

Holy Thursday

Just as everyone is busy with the preparation of the financial year end and audit, the company has to plan for the annual business planning seminar at Suntec. Registration starts at 1230pm and yet no lunch is provided! Ok, and the service of Suntec Catering just sucks BIG TIME! I asked for a cup of hot tea at 230pm and a MANAGER can tell me that I have to come back at 3pm during the tea break for the tea! What is going on???? U mean I can't even have a cup of hot tea now???? Shit man!

After which, BC and I attended the Holy Thursday mass at Holy Cross Church. This is the 1st year that I am celebrating Holy Week as a Catholic and with the company of BC, the whole mass just becomes more meaningful for me especially when we pray together as a family..........

Opening ceremony of my Prada bag! (Yeah!)

Busy busy busy

It has been a busy week so far for me. Non-stop emails from TW and HK offices, from TW auditors, from boss and other teams and departments. Work has definitely been picking up for me. But somehow I seem to be enjoying it still and that is good for me. I find that I have come to a stage in my life that I am motivated with challenges and I do not mind the stress and slightly longer than usual office hours in my life. Perhaps I do not have anything else outside work that I look forward to, that's why I find it a good thing that I am buried in my work.

Met up with Angie at my place yesterday and we were talking about work. Both of us agreed that there is no perfect company, culture and of course salary. We just have to be contented at 1 point in time and make sure we do what we enjoy after work. Personally, sometimes I also do not know what I enjoy because sometimes I am just so brain-dead that I do not wish to think and just stare blindly into the TV. I am not like some people that I know who want a car or condo etc etc. I am not INTO these stuffs...... (except for bags, of course, haha). I guess sometimes I am contented with the small things in my life......

More damages and bye bye Taipei..........

I am back! Quite sad to leave Taipei so soon especially when I did not managed to go alot of places (eg. Taipei 101, more night markets etc). But well, I'm sure to come back again, and hopefully this time for holidays and not work......... I simply love the weather there, a cool 17 degrees. After 2 days, I am still trying to get used to the hot and humid weather in Singapore.......
