I watched the show 'The Guardian' starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher sometimes back on Channel 5 and it was the second time I watched the movie on TV. It's like the only show that Ashton Kutcher is acting in a serious role???? So far all the other shows that he starred in seems to have comedy effect. But I fell in love in the theme song sang by Bryan Adams in this movie. Somehow, Kevin Costner and Bryan Adams' songs seems to 'connect' very well just like in 'Robin Hood' whereby Kevin Costner acted as Robin Hood and Bryan Adams' 'Everything I do, I do it for you' hit the charts big time years ago. I managed to download this song and when looking at the lyrics, I just find it so meaningful.....

BRYAN ADAMS - The Guardian Soundtrack - Never Let Go .mp3

Bryan Adams - Never Let Go
Can you lay your life down, so a stranger can live?
Can you take what you need, but take less than you give?
Could you close every day, without the glory and fame?
Could you hold your head high, when no one knows your name?
That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say.

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, cause you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Can you lose everything, you ever had planned?
Can you sit down again, and play another hand?
Could you risk everything, for the chance of being alone?
Under pressure find the grace, or would you come undone?
That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say?

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, cause you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Never let go, Never let go, Never let go

Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, 'but you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Never let go, Never let go, Never let go

Merry Christmas!

We organised a mini christmas party at our place today and invited our families over for a simple fare. My MIL brought her fried mee siam and kueh pati and my mum brought a strawberry cheesecake and cream puffs. To make things simple, we only prepared mini sausages and mash potatoes. It was a simple meal but a cozy event since it's only our families with us. We had a good time chatting and catching up that we did not realise time flies.

After our simple party, we had to head to BC's cousin's place for her xmas party and I was total drenched!!!! The stupid heavy rain just poured and poured when just 1 hour ago was bright and shiny. The roads were slightly floated and while walking to the place from the bus stop that we alighted, I was drenched from head to toes (yes, my hair, top and berms were wet lor!!!). Just as I thought I am reaching the entrance of her condo (yuppies!!!!), my worst nightmare came....... The pavement that we were walking on suddenly was on a decline and thus the water level became higher and higher, I was in knee high level of water and dry leaves and I really wanna cry lor! What the hell....... I actually arrived in his cousin's place looking like a wet animal and had to take a warm shower at her place and temporarily wear her over sized T-shirt and shorts while her maid iron my wet clothings....... Damn, what a way to end the day........

KL 16 - 18 Dec 2009

I finally get to go on a holiday!!! Yeah!!! I think my last holiday was........ last year and it's...... Batam? This time we decided to go on a short trip to KL. My usual experience of taking a coach for hours has not been very nice since the seats are cramped BUT nowadays the seats are getting more comfortable and wide with individual entertainment system. I managed to watch a few movies on the trip back and forth (Moonchild, The Boleyn Sister, Wedding Game) and even some episodes that I miss of Korean Boys over Flowers.

First meal upon arriving KL...... was at a food court at Lot 10 Shopping Centre. We left our hotel (Dorsett Regency) and wanted to make our way to Sungei Wang. As we walk blindly, following our instincts, we realised that Sungei Wang is actually not that far and our hotel is actually pretty accessible to major shopping centres. Anyway, before reaching Sungei Wang, we arrived at Lot 10 and decide to check it out first. The much raved Hokkien fried noodles is actually available here in the foodcourt but...... the taste is just so so. I seriously think those authentic shops at Jalan Alor should be able to cook much better than this.

After Sungei Wang (and purchasing my year supply of contact lens at half the price as compared to Singapore), we made our way to KL Pavilion and made our way to Golden Village cinema. Wah....... 2 tickets for RM16, gosh.... that is so so much cheaper than the tickets in Singapore. We decided to watch 'Couples Retreat' and it's funny and meaningful at the same time. BC and myself felt this KL trip is also like a retreat for us, haha.

The not so nice Hokkien fried noodles at Lot 10 foodcourt

Boneless chicken as appetizer in TGI Friday restaurant

My fish & chips

BC and his yummy bacon cheeseburger!

The next day, we thought of checking out KL twin tower since we are in KL. When we reach Peronas Twin Tower at 1030am, we realise that tickets for going up twin tower are free and are issued starting 830am and is on a first come, first served basis, so obviously we did not get to go up the tower. KLCC is huge but it is crowded with tourists and honestly it spoiled our shopping mood. Ended up we went for foot reflexology with shoulder, neck and back massage for 1 hour 15 mins and we head back to hotel for a short afternoon nap, haha. I think BC and myself are lazy tourists who doesn't like to chiong chiong all the way when holidays as it is so tiring........

We did not really shopped much as some of the stuffs are about the same price as Singapore but some sale are really at good deal like 70% discount. BC bought some good shirts that were going at 70% discount so about S$20+ per shirt! Cheap right??? I also bought 2 pair of shoes at about $15 - $30. I think we spent most of our money EATING!!!!

Interesting egg tarts (white = egg white, brown = coffee, yellow = durian)

Banana cupcake

Baskin Robbins! Why are they not available in Singapore???

Going off to KL tomorrow! Yes, finally a short holiday for me..... can't wait, I seriously need a break!

After 11 years, part 2 of Storm Rider is finally here. It's good to know that Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng is still acting as Cloud and Wind in the show. As usual, they look hot hot hot! However, this sequel is just that a bit disappointing..... no head, no tail, no plot, and hardly any lines from the actors. From the abrupt ending, I seriously think there will be a part 3 to this and I hope they don't take another 11 years to produce this otherwise it will be Uncle Cloud and Uncle Wind!

Xmas xmas xmas

Xmas is coming again. I have yet to do my xmas shopping!!!! The crowd out in the streets is just enough to put me off. Especially with the opening of 313 Somerset, the number of people in Somerset area is just increasing and increasing. Sometimes I missed the SARS period whereby most people are staying in to avoid the virus..... I know I sound evil but Singapore is really getting too crowded for my liking.

Anyway, before the shopping, let's have a yummy snowman donut first! Haha.

If I have $$$ now......

If I have money now, at least $30k - 40k, I would want to redo some parts of my house. Due to budget constraints initially, we were unable to really do much to beautify our place. We had to identify what were the must dos and the good to have and finally wish list (which we were not able to do).

BC and myself had been talking about what we would like to do when we have excess cash few years down the road (as by then, our flat would be at least 5 years old and it's about time to do some mini reno again on areas of wear and tear and areas which we did not have a chance to do.

First, the TV console has got to do. I have to say, our previous contractor is really ONLY a contractor with not much design sense thus, BC was quite shocked when he saw the TV console at our place as he claims that it was not the same design that he had in mind. Anyway, bygones be bygones, I am not even sure if this contractor is still in business and what we would love to have is a TV console like below. The only change that we would do is to change the colour to dark brown (in line with the colour theme that we had) and also cabinets with doors at the side (highlighted in red rectangles in the pic) to keep DVDs, or even the amplifier of our home entertainment system.

Bedroom is the place for us to relax after a day of shitty and hard work and I want it to be as cozy as it can be. I like the concept of these rooms below......I don't think I want to get out of bed, hahaha.

Last but not least, a huge corner with cat condos for my 3 precious one!!!!

What the hell is wrong with these people???

Extracted from Straits Time Online:-

A cat was found dead on Saturday tied to a pipe at Block 205, Toa Payoh North. It is believed to have been strangled to death with the string.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the act.
Animal cruelty is punishable by imprisonment of up to a year and/or fine of up to $10,000.

My goodness, I totally loathe animal abusers!!! What the hell is wrong with them? Would they like it if I strangle them with a string and tie them to the pipe? Or I feed with them poison causing them to die with white foam oozing out their mouth? Or killing them and mutilating them so that they 死无全尸?

This world is really full of fuckers!

Time really flies and Christmas is coming again! I love the atmosphere of Christmas, it just feels so warm and peaceful (except for the shopping crowds in Orchard who are using this season as an excuse to pump money back into the economy, hahaha).

I still remember spending Christmas eve in Sydney 8 years ago. Although it was summer in Sydney then, but it still feels great! Parents are buying new clothings and toys for their children and adults are buying presents for their families. I wish I have a chance to spend my Christmas overseas and this time, I want a WHITE christmas!!!! With real snow and not the bubble foams at Tanglin Mall! Haha.

Caught 'A Christmas Carol' in 3D last Sat and it was good! Sometimes we get caught up with ourselves in this materialistic world that we forgot we have family and friends with us, it's really sad. I especially feel deeply for Scoorge's clerk, Bob whom despite the ill treatments that Scoorge's gave him, still wish him well for Christmas and even cried for him when Scoorge saw into the future. I do not think I can be as big hearted as Bob as more often then not, I am cursing and swearing at the ass holes in office. But this movie really shows the true meaning of Christmas: The Season of Giving.

I never fail to bring back home made food whenever I go over to my parents' place. I will always let my mum knows before hand when I am coming back to make sure they are at home (sometimes my parents also go par tor one, so must book before hand, hahahah!).

Pre-ordered a corn coup with my mum and she also made some home made sushi and blueberry cheesecake on Sat! Soup is yummy as usual...... I loved my mum's soup, light but flavourful! I do not usually cook soup as BC is not quite a soup person. Brought back some of the home made sushi (with fillings such as tuna, crab meat, egg, pickles, cucumbers) and me and BC finished the sushi as supper. We saved the best for the last, blueberry cheesecake! My mum made a few different version of cheesecake and this version is the best so far! Sufficient cheesy taste but not too much with a slight sourish taste from lemon juice and zest coupled with fresh blueberries. What else can I ask for more??? This is heavenly!

Horrible Wed

Today is just horrible...... I started my day with a fell when I left my home and walking down the steps to the 1st floor! I actually slipped and fell down a few steps along the staircase just outside my house. WTH....... I ended up with a bruised right thigh, skin torn on my right elbow and a super swollen and bruised right little pinkie! Look at my pinkie!!! It's swollen beyond description.......... it's red on 1 side and I turn over, there is a patch of dark purplised area... Now I even have difficulties bending this pinkie....... *sob sob*

You know what was the best part??? After I fell, the first thing that I actually did after composing myself on the stairs was to check that my Miu Miu is unscratched! Hahaha.

Fashion crime

I was just reading Holly Jean's lifestyle blog when I come across this interesting post which talks about worst fashion mistakes. She has invited her readers to send in pictures and comment on their worst fashion mistakes and voting will be done to determine the winner who will walk away with prizes. This is the posting of one of the contestant:-

I always envy those with flawless complexion and double eyelid so I layered make-up after make-up only to look older (much older) and magnify my smaller eyes to even smaller. OMG my teeth look so yellowish with the red lipstick! I realized that the more you try to conceal your flaws the more noticeable it will be.

I confess that I am a sucker for kitties, be it kitten or adult cats. Even though alot of people tell me they are not loyal and very arrogant, I just like them. I like them for minding their own business, I like it that they don't overeat and only eat when they are hungry and I like it that they will manja with me when they want my attention. I do not understand why some people can be so cruel to do horrible things to these cats. Honestly, I think they really are just minding their own business and at the same time trying to find some food and staying alive. Is there a need to call the relevant authorities to put them down? Hiaz.

Anyway, I saw this cute kitty sleeping on it's cute bed while coming back from lunch. Seeing how it is sleeping peacefully, I missed my kitties at home now!!!!!

世上没有丑女人,只有懒女人

I totally agree with the statement of 世上没有丑女人,只有懒女人. Lately I have been seeing this lady who board the same bus as me when I come to work and I seriously feel that she need to do an eyebrow job. Her eyebrows are seriously droopy and I think with proper shaping and trimming, it will lift up her eyes and make her eyes look bigger and not droopy. I find that her brows look like 老夫子, short and droopy! Hehe.

The calm before the storm

I totally agree with the statement 'The calm before the storm' because our 3 kitties totally reinforce the meaning behind this statement. While watching TV one evening, I was quite surprised to see that I don't see them around in the living room which they usually are. Decided to check out the kitchen and to my surprise, they just managed to open the drawer where I kept the kitchen towels (because BC left a small gap on the drawer) and they pulled and literally shredded the whole roll of kitchen towel to pieces! My goodness.........

Simba basking in the comfort of the shredded towels

They managed to open the drawer to this gap even though the inital gap was only about 1 inch

Eden totally love this position!

Nobody but chiu

After a colleague of mine told me about this song and told me how catchy and hilarious the 'but chiu' statement was in the song, I found and heard the song and agree that it is really catchy and the tune just get stuck in your head! I told BC about this song (thinking that he don't know!) but he told he already knew since he has a colleague who set this song as his ringing tone! Then he told me that the MV was really cute with this guy stuck in the toilet.......

To Ver: I seriously think you can pull off the dance moves in this MV, hahaha.

Legalised 'ah long'

All the commercial gimmicks and slogans about banks wanting to help consumers achieve their dreams and all are all a bunch of craps! At the end of the day, it's about the bottomline in the P&L and honestly, they are still wolves in sheep's clothings who are all out to suck consumers' blood and money!

Anyway, recently, BC had a very unpleasant experience with this bank starting with 'H'. He was 1 day late in paying his credit card bill so he called to request for a waiver in late charge. The customer service over the phone told him he can't waive because it has been reflected in the system. BC was very mad and said that he has requested the same from another bank before and why they can do it. The customer service officer could not answer. BC further added that since their service is so lousy, he want to cancel the card. The officer told him he has to call another number to cancel!!!! WTF! Today we just received the statement from this freaking bank again and now they imposed a $2.50 finance charge just because of the 1 day late payment. BC is very mad and decide to pay the $2.50 in 5 cents and 10 cents. We had taped it to white paper and wanted to mail it over (since we can't pay via AXS machine as the minimum payment is $5) but they did indicate on the return envelope that we cannot enclose cash. BC say he has all the time to pay with them and would 'gladly' pay the cash over the counter. Haha!

T asked the lunch kakis over lunch yesterday what was the event that I can immediately recall that I am most happy about. Most of them answered graduating from school, passing exams etc etc. For a while, I was in a total blank out state as I really cannot think of any events that I am most happy about. Not that my entire life is a total disaster that I don't have any happy events but I would not say that there are anything that really really excites and makes me super happy.

Wedding: More excited than happy. After which, fatigue sets in, so to me, not super happy as well.
Graduation: More relieved than anything else because finally NO MORE EXAMS!

Ended up, my answer was bringing Eden back home after adopting her. I guess how I felt at the point in time was the same as how any mothers felt when they 1st held their baby in their arms? This is my guess as I have not have child of my own before and to date, I still don't intend to have. But I am very happy when I brought Eden back because she just look so amazingly cute and little when we 1st set eyes on her and it has always been a dream of mine to have a cat at home and my wish finally came true after having my own place and with the support of BC.

I am actually very thankful that BC supported my decision to have cat as I knew that all the while he prefers dogs. All the comtemplating and reading up on what to prepare to have a pet was not easy and our concern has always been the scratching problems of cats. To date, we still have such problems when the 3 kitties decided to be 'adventurous' and start scratching anything else but their scratching posts but we were still able to manage that. Costs was another consideration given the food, litter, toys and contingencies like visiting the vet etc. But all these $ and efforts are really worth it when we come back home and see them. Every little things that they do (may it be good or bad) just make us laugh.

Had a good dinner with Ver and Bc at IMM. Bc went M1 shop at IMM with the intention to get Nokia E71 but they ran out of stock for the grey one. Luckily the customer service lady managed to reserve a grey set at Sembawang.

Gu Gu The Cat

I wanna watch this movie!!!!

This kitty is just so cute!

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

For the past 1 month, we notice that there are 4 cats (1 mum and 3 kittens) under our block and honestly, we really find them very pitiful as they seem to b looking for food in the drain and grass patches. This evening when me and BC were back, we saw the mother cat lying motionless on the ground. When we walked closer to take a look, she woke up and we saw that she is pregnant again! Sometimes I just wish that I'm able to help more of these poor kitties.

Naughty Simba

This bag of cat food is not stored in paper bag, if you are wondering. It is a PLASTIC bag. PLASTIC as quoted from dictionary.com is.......

any of a group of synthetic or natural organic materials that may be shaped when soft and then hardened, including many types of resins, resinoids, polymers, cellulose derivatives, casein materials, and proteins: used in place of other materials, as glass, wood, and metals, in construction and decoration, for making many articles, as coatings, and, drawn into filaments, for weaving.

BUT Simba, managed to bite a hole in this bag (as per the blue circle in the pic above)! What the hell is wrong with this kitten??? He is super hyper like Sonic the Hedgehog, and super greedy when it comes to wet food. And honestly, he is only half of Eden's or Titus' size and that sure never stop him from provoking his elder sis or bro. He really don't know what is DEATH man........

Finally!!!

Yes, the word is realy 'FINALLY'. For friends who knew Estee and Ken, they must be waiting for this wedding for a long long time. With God's blessing, the whole day went on very well with nothing but happiness. The bride looks beautiful in her beautiful white lace bustier gown with bright pink flower design and the groom looks dashing in his Hugo Boss black suit. The whole event was, in my opinion a romantic and heart warming event, I specially love the music they have selected, all of which is just so appropriate that at some moment I was quite holding back the tears.

To Estee & Ken: Wedding is just 1 day and marriage is a lifetime. I sincerely wishes you both with a blissful marriage with God's grace showering on both of you. You 2 have just embark on a wonderful journey that will last for the rest of your lives. :)

Some people are really amazing. It's very obvious that the train is fully packed and there are no more space and some idiot can just say 'excuse me' and still squeeze in! WTF!!! She thinks by saying the magical word 'Excuse me', a space will pop out in the train for her to enter is it? No space means no space, you say a million 'excuse me' and the result is still the same, NO SPACE FOR YOU!
