Even for ladies with oily or combination skin like myself, I cannot emphasise enough the importance of making sure our skin is hydrated. Yes, you heard me right, even oily skin needs hydration, the RIGHT kind of hydration. On and off, I do get breakout when I noticed my skin is not properly hydrated. Review: SexyLook Extra Brightening Duo Lifting Mask

This review is on another mask that Secretive.sg has kindly sponsored. Here we have SexyLook Extra Brightening Duo Lifting Mask, which is enriched with Malachite, Peptide-5 and Platinum nanoparticles (helps in efficient absorption of the active ingredients into the skin layers)

SexyLook Extra Brightening Duo Lifting Mask also contains tranexamic acid, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, West Indian Cheery extract and Vitamin B3 for the brightening effect.

As you can see from the packaging here, this is a lifting mask which is supposedly to give the 'lift' and firming effect. However, similar to other SexyLook masks which I had tried, the mask is too small to fit my face thus I cannot pull the hooks to my ears. Thus this mask works like a normal fitted mask than lifting mask for me.

This mask is sooo packed with the essence that I can feel an immediate relief to my skin when I put it on. For your information, I always like to put my masks in a fridge before using so that the chill will give me a soothing effect. The mask soak up sufficient essence and at the same time is not dripping wet which is what I love about this mask. I can still go about doing my housework, watch TV or read and not be 'paralyzed' and stop all activities.

For ladies who has been having late nights and needing that extra radiance boost, you have to give it a try. While reviewing this mask, I was suffering from PMS and late night from reading and my face looks real dull. But after applying this mask for 20mins, I look significantly 'awake' and brighter. This definitely works very well as an emergency mask when you need to go for that special date. :)

Review: Sexylook Intensive Whitening Black Cotton Mask

Personally, I have always felt that in order for me to have a good pore cleansing masking experience, wash off or peel off mask is the way to go. Make sense? Because only by having a mask that penetrates the pores to cleanse it from the inside and washing it away does the pores get thoroughly cleanse. However, the lazy bug in me always deter from using a deep cleansing mask because of the hassle of washing off the mask when you can just peel off the sheet mask and that's it. :)

When Secretive.sg contacted me to review about a sheet mask that is able to cleanse the pores by absorbing dirt and sebum and at the same time able to hydrate the skin, I'm really interested to try and see if it works!

With activated carbon present in the mask, no wonder Sexylook Intensive Whitening Black Cotton Mask is able to absorb dirt and sebum. Carbon is an excellent 'absorber', just imagine the carbon filters sold in Daiso to absorb bad odours!

The function of the mask doesn't end there. Other than deep-cleansing, it has whitening function all thanks to black pearl extract. Dual function mask like this works really well for busy ladies.

Sorry for scaring you guys out with this shoot but this mask is made of black cotton which explains the black mask, haha. The cotton sheet is extremely soft and soaked with essence, which makes it easy for the mask to adhere to my face. It is fragrance free so ladies with sensitive nose need not worry about this.

I left the mask on my face for approximately 25 minutes before removing it and patting in the remaining essence. Interestingly, my face feels slightly warm and I suspect it is due to the carbon but it does not cause any discomfort. With the hydration function of the mask, I do not feel squeaky clean on my skin surface like how it feels when I use a deep cleansing wash off mask. I also notice that my skin looks slightly brighter and fresh after use.

Even though Sexylook Intensive Whitening Black Cotton Mask does not seems to be any different from other sheet masks that I have used, one point worth mentioning was the next day after I used this mask, a pimple that had popped out near my chin subsided substantially!! I'm really glad to see this pimple subsided even though I did not apply any pimple topical gel or cream as I was lazy (again!!!).

Review: SexyLook Extreme Whitening Duo Lifting Mask

I have been a fan of sheet masks for years as they are convenient to use and easy to bring along wherever I go. As such, I am extremely delighted to be contacted by Secretive.sg to review 2 of the masks available on their website: SexyLook Extreme Whitening Duo Lifting Mask and Love More White Crystal & Platinium Petide Moisturizing Mask. For the posting today, the review will be on SexyLook Extreme Whitening Duo Lifting Mask.

SexyLook Extreme Whitening Duo Lifting Mask contains multiple whitening extracts such as white truffles, black pearl, barley extract and tranexamic acid. With these multiple extracts, the mask is able to fight against yellowish and uneven skin tone. In additon, it is also able to diminish dark spots, moisturise and sooth skin. For me who has been plagued with uneven skin tone and freckles, this sure sound like a good mask to try.

Unlike a normal sheet mask which covers your face, this is a 3D mask which is able to firm the chin and neck area with the additional 'extension'.

The initial feel I have about the mask is that the thickness of the sheet is just nice. I have tried sheet masks which is just too thin (which makes it extremely filmsy) or too thick (which make it difficult to adhere to my face). However, this sheet mask is too small for my big face that I am unable to pull the 2 hooks at the side to my ears as well as the hooks to cover the chin area without overstretching the mask and running the risk of tearing it apart. As such, I just put it on like how I would use a normal mask and slap it on (see pic below). Good thing the 'extension' at the chin area was still able to stick on and not drop off thus enabling me to mask my chin as well. 

The second feel about Sexylook Extreme Whitening Duo Lifting Mask is the amount of essence on the mask is just right as well. It's enough to cover my face and last through the 15 - 20 minutes wait so that the essence can be properly absorbed into the skin and yet not be dripping wet.

After 20 minutes whereby the mask can be removed, I gently pat the remaining essence into my skin and it does not feel sticky and wet as all the goodness from the essence are absorb. Before the application of my usual night moisturiser, I noticed my skin is well moisturised and plump and my pores are not as obvious due to sufficient moisturisation from the mask. In fact, my skin still look as plump with not obvious pores despite sleeping in an air-conditioned room in the night. Although I do not see any significant lightening of my dark spots, my face does look brighter. 

Would I recommend this mask? I would even though the mask is not big enough to be a 3D mask for me but for ladies with smaller face, this should not be a problem. I specially love the moisturising and brightening effect from the mask. :)
