Soleil Tan de Chanel Sable Rose

I can't believe I jumped onto the bandwagon of getting the bronzer from Chanel Summer Collection 2012. When I saw the pictures of it on the beauty blogsphere, it certainly did not draw me in like Chanel Ombre Contraste Duos in Sable Emouvant. However, when I swatched it over Tangs Vivo counter yesterday, I was certainly sold!

I cannot emphasis enough how Chanel always makes me go gaga over their design and packaging for some of their limited edition items. Just looking at this picture and I already can't bear to use it. :( I know there are ladies out there who asked themselves if they should get the bronzers in this Summer Collection if they already purchased Bronze Rose and Bronze Corail, my suggestion is to check our Sabrina's comparison here. She never ever fails to give excellent swatches clear enough for you to make a decision. Lucky for me, I did not caved in to Bronze Rose or Bronze Corail last year thus this was quite a no brainer for me.

I also managed to get a sample of the new foundation, Perfection Lumiere in 20 beige from the friendly SA so it's time to give this highly-raved foundation a try and compare with my HG foundation, Lift Lumiere which I raved about previously.

Man, even Eden went gaga over my Chanel........... haha

CN Blue - Still in Love

I swear if CN Blue sing this song to me, I will drop dead on the SPOT! I can literally feel the sadness and sorrow in Yong Hwa's singing......

MIB3 in IMAX 3D

Lately BC is on a IMAX 3D craze....... every new movie that is released, he will check to see if there is an IMAX 3D version. Ticket is not cheap at close to $20 per pax (I'm not sure how much it costs since I am not paying for it, lol) but the movie experience is indeed very very very different from a normal film and even 3D version.

Not sure how many of you can remember the film experience when we go for school excusion at Science Centre and we had to sit in the IMAX theatre for a show? It feels almost like that but you are not inclined and you are also wearing a 3D glasses. The whole show just seems closer to you and it's like IN YOUR FACE (literally!). For example, there is a scene that Will Smith is looking down from a tall building, I really felt like I am looking down and my heart almost pop out.

IMAX 3D is quite a cool experience and you should try it if you haven't. It's not something you want to try often since it is not exactly pocket friendly but if you choose a good film to get the full experience, it is most definitely money well-spent. :)

Essie Bangle Jangle & China Glaze Luxe & Lush

Nursing an injured ankle and strain back means staying in and catching up on my Korean shows / music videos etc etc. It also is a good time to change my nail colour :)

Essie Bangle Jangle is the nail of the week. Did anyone mention that I love purple colour? This creamy lilac shade is just lovely. I tried to add some oomph by laying China Glaze Luxe & Lush on alternate fingers and I have to rant ..... Luxe & Lush is such a b*t@h to apply!!!! Hate it!

Nonetheless, Bangle Jangle is a shade that I foresee myself reaching for often for sure. :)

Juniel with Yonghwa – “Fool” full MV

Last week has just been draining for me, I'm not sure why. Work is busy as usual but mentally and physically I am just feeling sooooo drained. With all the crazy news about my employer, it is no wonder that most people are starting to be worried about their rice bowl. Honestly, I will be kidding myself to say I am not worried but I am not sure what to expect or do either. Just have to wait and see :(

So on a happier note, I have became a CN Blue fan! It all started from watching 'HeartStrings' whereby Jung Yong Hwa caught my attention (sorry, I did not watched 'You're Beautiful where Yong Hwa was in it as well and only started watching it now) and with the power of internet (haha), then did I realise he is part of a band called CN Blue. They are surely a group that do not only look good, they are talented too. They can sing and even write their own songs.

Just recently, Yong Hwa was involved in composing, writing lyrics and producing the duet with Juniel named 'Fool'. This MV was just launched today and I really love it. The song is sweet and catchy and their voices are good and compliment each other. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. :)

China Glaze Fast Track

After the massive rave of  Hunger Games movie, many (including yours truly) rushed to buy the novels. One of the items that spun out was nail polishes from China Glaze. China Glaze launched The Capitol Colours Collection, showcasing 12 polishes, representing the 12 Districts in the show. I picked up 2 polishes from this collection: Fast Track (District 6) and Luxe & Lush (District 1). The nails of this week is FAST TRACK!

Let me tell you what caught my attention when selecting the polishes to pick up from this collection:-
1) NEUTRAL
2) GOLD MICRO FLECKS

With these 2 points, I am totally sold and immediately adding Fast Track to my shopping list. The texture is smooth and watery, making it a breeze to apply and I usually apply 3 coats of China Glaze polish to achieve good coverage and this is no difference.

Honestly, the lousy picture above does not do Fast Track any justice. Under the lights, the gold micro flecks just give this beige nail polish that extra edge. I totally love it!

Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour SV 810 Tin

One of my undeclared hauls for the longest time is Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour in SV810. After reading and seeing the swatches on various beauty blogs previously, I literally rushed to get my hands on them when these cream shadows were launched. One of the colours that I was dying to get is SV 810 Tin.

I like blue eyeshadows but it's really tricky to use them especially on my monolids that I just do not have the confidence at all. SV810 Tin is however a greyish blue which looks like a pretty safe blue for me to give this a try. According to the SA, I recalled this is one of the more popular colours that were quickly snapped up.

Honestly, I do not find this cream eyeshadow easy to blend using my fingers. I'm not sure if the issue is my finger or the formula but I personally find it hard to control the application of this shadow. Instead, I used Sephora I.T brush 235 for cream shadow to apply and blend. It works fine but time is required to build up the colour intensity and blend as well. I have no complaints about this method but it is definitely not something I would do when I am rushing for work.

So far, I did not use a primer prior to Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour but it does last approximately 6 hours for me. After which, the colour does look slightly faded but without creasing. No complaints here :)

Here is another EOTD which I did today. Given I am in a lazy mode, I only used SV810 Tin on my lids and did a gradation which doesn't look very obvious, haha. What do you think?

FOTD with Burberry Sheer Eyeshadows in Chestnut and Pale Barley

After my purchases of Burberry Sheer Eyeshadows in Pale Barley and Chestnut, I am finally putting them to good use over the weekend when me and BC head out for lunch cum movie date.

First and forthmost, please pardon the messy brows, I badly need threading. Secondly, please also pardon my lousy application skills as I still think the shadows look weird after looking at the pic for a few times.

After prepping the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I applied Pale Barley about 2/3 of the lid starting from the inner corner. Using MAC 217 fluffy brush, I tried to create an outer V using Chestnut, blending in. With tonnes of blending, this is the end product.

I am extremely pleased with the lasting power of the Burberry eyeshadows as coupled with a primer, they lasted a good 10 hours on my oily lids while we were out. Not only were the texture smooth and buttery, they are also pigmented and extremely blendable. I have only 1 word for them.... "LOVE"!!

Avengers

Have you watched 'Avengers' already??? if you haven't, YOU HAVE TO! It's AWESOME!!!

This show is definitely not as about hot bods and eye candies because the exciting plot just keep you at the edge of the seat! You can definitely expect excitement and not missing comical effects from the various characters as well. :) In fact, me and BC like this show so much that we watched it twice!

Review: SK-II Cellumination Essence EX

About 1.5 months ago, I am very honoured to be contacted by SK-II to not only blog for their events, they have also generously given me a bottle of SK-II Cellumination Essence EX for use and review. Given that I am already a loyal support of SK-II Facial Treatmemt Essence and Skin Refining Treatment which I have posted here and here, I seriously can't wait to try out this new product.

Extracted from SK-II website:-

Only the new SK-II Cellumination Essence EX can provide long-lasting moisturisation and even-out skin discolouration.

Enhanced with concentrated PiteraTM, De-Melano P3CTM, new Pixel WhiteTM and other ingredients, it will improve the micro texture unevenness on the skin brought about by the inevitable stress of modern living.

If you are looking for a product that improves your aura and radiance, SK-II Cellumination Essence EX will be what you are looking for.

SK-II Cellumination Essence EX is a serum which is to be applied after toner and Facial Treatment Essence and before moisturiser. As you can see from the picture above, it is a milky lotion-like serum with a very light texture. After massaging into the skin, it turns clear and immediately gets absorbed into the skin. I love how my skin feels after applying Cellumination Essence EX as it does not feels sticky and oily.

Now that we have discussed about the initial feel of the product, let's look at effectiveness of this product. In order for me to give a good review of this product, I went down to SK-II counter at Tangs Orchard to have a skin analysis done before starting on the product. The skin analysis is done based on 5 areas: Radiance Enhancement, Spot Control, Wrinkle Resilience, Firmness Power and Texture Refinement. Each area that your skin is in average and above condition will score a 'D'. The more D you get from this analysis, the better your skin is.

Given that I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts, I am very sure wrinkle resilience is not an issue since my face can be an oil field at times. What surprises me is that I score the lowest in 'Radiance Enhancement' as I do not have radiant skin due to my skin having more redness than usual. I got 3D from this analysis, coming from 'Wrinkle Resilience', 'Firmness Power' and 'Texture Refinement'.

After taking this skin analysis which clearing shows that I am lacking in radiance, I have been consistently using SK-II Cellumination Essence EX twice a day after applying Facial Treatment Essence. After a month, I went back to the same SK-II counter at Tangs Orchard and requested for the same skin analysis and guess what? My 'Radiance Enhancement' improved from 31% to 44%!!
My spots have also lighten thus showing an improvement from 67% to 71%. With this, my skin has improved from a 3D to 4D now, wow! The SA mentioned that SK-II Cellumination Essence EX could help in lighten existing spots but at a slower rate than Whitening Spots Specialist which targets to lighten both existing and surfacing spots.

I am truly glad that my skin is showing improvement in the areas that was lacking earlier on and this has certainly strengthen my belief in SK-II products. :)

Orly You're Blushing

After resting my poor nails for a week, it's time to paint some colours back on them! Recently joined a spree with juju and I picked up ALOT of polishes (jitters running down my spine, lol) and one of the highly recommended shade by juju is Orly's You're Blushing from Orly Spring 2012 Cool Romance Collection.

I can't express how much I love this shade. In general, I like purple shades and this is a sweet dusty lilac colour. This shade reminds me of a lighter version of OPI Parlez-Vous OPI? (which is a darker and more intense purple shade). My nail bed is pretty small and there are shades which I cannot carry very well but I really like how this colour looks on my nails. I feel so feminine now! Lol.

The finish is creamy and application is quite a breeze for someone with retarded hands, so what else can I say except I absolutely love this shade!!

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow No. 5 Chestnut

Few weeks ago when I was Tangs, I walked towards Burberry Beauty counter randomly and decided to ask the SA what shades would be good to pair with Pale Barley which I purchased here. The SA recommended 2 shades: Chestnut and Lavender / Lavender Blue (?, can't remember, lol). Needless to say, I went with Chestnut which is another neutral, which was also highly recommended and raved by the SA. :)

Honestly, at $46 per pan for 2.5g of product, I personally find it a bit on the expensive side. But Burberry Beauty compensate with it's metal, magnetic case which totally shouts 'CLASS' and it's wonderful smooth and buttery texture of the eyeshadow.

I tried comparing the swatch of Chestnut to other eyeshadows that I have in the stash (which look similar in the pan), However, upon swatching, the shades just come out different.
Top row: Inglot Eyeshadow Pearl 402, MAC Pro Wear Eyeshadow One to Watch, Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow No. 5 Chestnut
Bottom Row: Urban Decay Naked Palette in Buck

From the pan, Buck looks the closest to Chestnut, followed by Inglot Pearl 402. One to Watch looks more peachy than brown though.

From the swatch above, you can see that indeed Buck looks closer to Chestnut than the other 2 shades. However, the texture of Buck is more powdery and matte and not as smooth and buttery as Chestnut. One to Watch is just different as it is a peach shade. Pearl 402 on the other hand has more 'pearl factor' in it thus explaining why it looks more 'shiny' as compared to the rest.

Overall, I am extremely happy with  Burberry's eyeshadows and there is no doubt I will get more of it. The next has got to be Lavender / Lavender Blue....... I have to look for the correct name again...... :)

Rouge Bunny Rouge: Embrace of Cashmere & Caress of Mink

Part of my Zuneta haul that I had months ago are loose glitter pigments from Rouge Bunny Rouge in Embrace of Cashmere and Caress of Mink. Honestly, I have never been a fan of pigments because I find it messy to play around with pigments and it is hard to control the amount during application. What made me buy them then? I only wanted to meet the minimum amount for qualify for free international shipping. Lame reason, I know... but that's the truth. But after playing around with it, I did not regret this purchase at all.

As you can see above, it is housed in a sleek plastic tube and you can see the pigments from the exterior. It would be much better than the black cap of the tube is screwed on instead of just a cap which is not tight at all.

The remedying factor of my peeve that the black cap that is not tight is that the sponge applicator double up as a vial stopper. This certainly prevents any messy pigments flying around.

From left to right: Embrace of Cashmere, Caress of Mink

You must be thinking, NEUTRAL colour again????!!!! Yes, this is boring me, always looking at safe, neutral colour, hahahahaha. I love how the glitters in these pigments comes out without making you look like a disco balls. With these pigments, it is a MUST to apply eyeshadow primer before application in order for them to last well on you.

Have you tried any RBR loose pigments? Any favourite???
