Another product that was purchased over Saks with D&G Luminous Cheek Colour Rosebud is Tom Ford Lip Colour in Casablanca.
This is my second lipstick from Tom Ford, following True Coral, so I chose a lighter and more neutral-lookin shade this time round.
The interesting thing about Casablanca is that the shade looks way lighter on the stick than swatched. One look and it looks like a brownish pink shade. But it looks more like darker when swatch and was much closer to being brownish red. On my lips, it looks darker than my natural lip colour (considering I have pretty dark lips).
Although I was slightly disappointed with the shade, I can actually live with it. However, comparing against the texture of True Coral that I had, Casablanca feels thicker and slightly drier. I am not sure why there is a difference considering they are the same range.
What are your thoughts after having trying Tom Ford lipsticks? Would know to hear your thoughts. :)
Do you think Tom Ford lipstick is worth the price compared to other brands like Chanel?
ReplyDeleteI feel lipsticks from Chanel, Burberry and YSL are better than Tom Ford actually.
DeleteI agree with your observation, Ruby! So surprised to see Casablanca actually swatches quite a bit darker! It's a lovely shade nonetheless, but I can see why someone might be disappointed if they're looking for a nude/MLBB in this.
ReplyDeleteI only own 2 TF lipsticks so far, including Diabolique and True Coral. I agree with the texture inconsistency. I heard that some of these just have a stronger glossy sheen than others, and True Coral happens to be one of them.
Sunny, thanks for the information on the texture inconsistency. I am actually surprised and disappointed that such inconsistency can happen for lipsticks of such high price.
DeleteIt's not a shade I would for myself, but I do like the result and how it looks on your lips!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment. :)
DeleteI haven't tried Tom Ford but I like this shade.
ReplyDeletexlovehappyx, honestly i feel this shade could be dupeable, only a matter of how close we can get the shade.
DeleteMaybe you would have liked the lip colour I bought instead Indian Rose. It is lighter in colour.
ReplyDeleteJacq, i am looking forward to your thoughts of Indian Rose. Not so sure if I wanna get another Tom Ford lipstick though. Chanel and Burberry's texture are much better.
