USA hauls

A few friends have been asking me the amount of make up items I hauled during my USA trip and my honest opinion is 'not much'. I left most of my make up shopping to my last stop in San Francisco which is a huge mistake. I don't see any Sephora and the brands that I was keen to get stuffs from such as Tom Ford has only perfumes and lipsticks. Not to mention that the 8.75% of refundable tax is quite a put off so.......

Other than Frivole which I purchased from San Francisco Airport, below are the make up hauls I got from airport and drugstores. The variety of drugstore brands such as Revlon, Covergirl, Maybelline etc is really good there. The range of shades available just made me green with envy.

A memento for my USA trip, I decided to get some Pandora charms for my bangle. Added a Statue of Liberty charm (representing USA) and 2 flower clippers so that the charms will not go all over the place when I wear it.

As I got the job offer that I wanted towards the end of this trip, I decided to splurge on myself by getting a Hermes clic clac in white. So in love with this baby, simple and chic! I heard that Singapore is retailing this at about S$1k and I paid US$610 at San Francisco airport. That's really some savings there.

A lot of other stuffs were bought in Las Vegas premium outlets, and miscellaneous places such as M&M's World and the stuffs are here inside my messy luggage. Don't worry peeps, I finally got down to unpacking it last weekend after 3 weeks. Lol!!

Friday Photo Meme - What's In Your Bag Edition

I was reading Haru's latest blog posting and it is a very interesting post of 'What's In Your Bag Edition'. I have decided to join Haru and Yumeko and post what's in my bag as well (even though it is already Sunday today) :)

1. Cellphone / mobile phone
My white iPhone 4S with Mercury case which was bought from Gmarket. I love the thick, rubbery Mercury case that helps to cushion any shock. Best part is the case is able to cover all edges of my phone. In fact, I like this case so much that I have the case in 3 shade: hot pink, mint green and purple.

2. Wallet / Purse / Whatever you keep your money in
This a new wallet that I only started using today, haha. I purchased it via a spree months, months ago from Banana Republic since my wallet was running a risk of splitting on me. Needless to say, the wallet managed to survive after so many months before I decided to finally change to this lovely mustard yellow Banana Republic wallet. It's good that I managed to dump all my rubbish in it but is slightly on the bulky side. But the colour won me over anytime.

3. Something in your wallet [cards / coins / money / whatever]
The 2 cards that I bring along wherever I go: Starbucks and Watsons card. Starbucks and Watsons are 2 places that I go to very often. In fact, me and BC go to Starbucks at least twice a week!

4. Makeup you carry on the go
In my Daiso pouch, I always have MAC blot powder, Palmer's Lip butter and Dior Addict High Shine lipstick. I am seriously desperately trying to finish this lipstick but the fact that I hardly touch up does not really helps. Haha.

5. Whatever else you wish to share from your bag
I always have mints in my bag and eclipse is my favourite brand so far. Ricola Lemon mint is another favourite of mine.

Join in the fun by leaving a your version of 'What's in your bag' via your blog link as a comment here or at Haru's or Yumeko's. :)

Thomas Sabo black cat charm

If you remember my posting previously about Thomas Sabo, I have wanted to buy their charm bracelet for the longest time and yesterday with the company of my old friend, E, I finally bought the bracelet with the cat charm!! Yeah!!

I went into Thomas Sabo boutique at Raffles City shopping centre after lunch with E and tried on the bracelet with the black cat charm. Actually wanted to tell the sales assistant that I will think about it and got a scolding from E. She said every time when we meet up and there is a Thomas Sabo boutique around, I will always step in, looked around and leave empty handed. Since I really like it so much, I should just get it! So yes, I finally bought it!!! Love love it!

Now I am kind of regretting not getting the lucky charm at the same time as the white pearl of lucky charm went so damn well with the black cat charm. Thinking if I should get it tomorrow...... Lol

Thomas Sabo

I have like charm bracelets for a while and have always been looking at nice charm bracelets from Agatha, Thomas Sabo and others. However, the tricky thing about charm bracelets are:-

1) The charms are usually not cheap (in the range of $30+ - $100+ per charm)
2) You will not stop at ONE charm, SCARY!!!!

So anyway, I never dare to step intp Thomas Sabo although I know they have a huge variety of nice charms because 1 of my friend who like charm bracelet told me their charms are not cheap and she will get it only if she goes HK because it is cheaper there. I hate the feeling of going into a shop to check out the prices and leaving without buying as I always feel the salegirl will be throwing dagger looks at me as I am leaving the place because I am a cheapo and not buy anything.

My best pal in office, L is also a lover and collector of Thomas Sabo and she offered to accompany me to check out the charms at Thomas Sabo @ ION Orchard after our dinner. Always feel safer with company to check out stuffs....... hehe. So I was so spoilt for choices there!!!! There were 3 full display cases of charms that I literally went crossed-eyes! Luckily, there was a catalogue available in the store showing all their charms and PRICES..... I like it...... I can check out the charms and prices at my own time and target.

So after slowing browsing through the catalogue at the comfort of my home, I have shortlisted the following 8 charms (need to get the bracelet as well)

1) Alphabet 'R' charm for my name
2) Small red heart charm
3) Black bag charm (since I like bags)
4) Pink crystal flower charm (because I like the pink)
5) Lucky charm ( I need this)
6) Lipstick charm (because I am a makeup junkie)
7) Cross charm (to remind me of my faith, lol)
8) Cat charm (I HAVE TO GET THIS!)

And guess how much everything will cost if I get it all????

Guess lah.............

Still not guessing?????

Ok lah, I tell you! The 8 charms will cost $550 in total !!!! *collapse on the floor from heart attack*. And this is not taking into account the bracelet I need to get for the first time at $59!

This is an expensive obsession......... Gosh......
