CNY shopping with ZALORA

Hello all!!! How's the preparation for the upcoming Chinese New Year? My parents used to tell me that we should always wear new clothes for the first day of Chinese New Year as a good omen that we will always have new clothes to wear. Sounds superstitious but that just gave me more excuse to shop! Lol

For those who have yet to get your Chinese New Year outfit, fret not and click here! Check out ZALORA for their variety of items that you can definitely find for this new year.

Love these cheongsams and the prints! Too bad I do not have the figure and build to wear them.

How about some new shoes to go with your outfit?? :)

Other than the women's section, you have to check out the men's section too.

Time to shop right away and clothe yourself in new items for this Chinese New Year!

Have you seen Pantene's Viral Video Challenges Gender Bias in the Workplace?

In modern society whereby females are just as successful and capable as males, there are still labels and stereotypes associated with women. Statement such as 'It's easier working for male bosses as female bosses are very bossy' or 'Check out the way she dresses, showing off her new dress' are not foreign to us.

A Pantene study in the Philippines found that 70% of men still think that women need to downplay their personality to be accepted. Pantene’s insight from Filipino culture spurred the creation of a video depicting this hidden double standard, boldly asking questions like “Why is he called boss, but she’s called bossy?”

Needless to say, ALOT of reactions came out from this video. In a little more than a month, the video generated more than seven million views and thousands of comments around the globe. Author of 'Lean In' author and Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg, also shared the video on her Facebook page.

  • Today, Pantene has earned 241,100,081 overall earned media impressions and 227,072,270 digitally.
  • Forbes has quoted the video for portraying gender labels effectively, while Time has lauded Pantene’s efforts to break down ever sexist workplace stereotype in one ad.
  • Through pure organic growth and virality, the video has made waves in the United States, on programmes such as ABC World News Tonight and even Good Morning America.

Check out this interesting video below.

ORBIS Cleansing Liquid

I have been a fan of cleansing oil for the longest time because I felt cleansing oil cleanses most thoroughly and makes me feel more confident that all traces of makeup and dirt that I have on my face is properly removed. Today I am happy to be able to try and share with you ORBIS Cleansing Liquid.

For readers who are not familiar with ORBIS, ORBIS is a Japanese leading cosmetic brand known as a pioneer in oil-free skincare. Other than skincare, ORBIS also has a nice range of health food too.

ORBIS Cleansing Liquid is one of its best seller! It is a water-based formula cleansing oil which removes makeup without stressing the skin. When blended with water, the Aqua Cleansing Ingredients is able to remove makeup with gentle rinsing. You will be happy to know that ORBIS Cleansing Liquid is oil free, fragrance free, alcohol free, free of artificial colours. It has mild acidity as well as allergy tested and non-comedogenic tested.

Let's put ORBIS Cleansing Liquid to the test, shall we? You can see from the picture below, it is a clear oil.

I have on my arm some of the smudge proof make up items (from left to right).

1) Kiss Me Heroine Make mascara
2) Kiss Me Heroine Make liquid eyeliner
3) Chanel Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliner
4) MUFE Aqua Rouge

The bottom picture shows ORBIS Cleansing Liquid being massaged into my skin.

After rinsing off with water, you can see only tinges of mascara and MUFE Aqua Rouge stayed on. The cleansing effect is totally acceptable considering we always use separate cleanser for eyes and lips. After following up with my usual cleanser, my skin felt clean and smooth without the tightness of over cleansing. Love it!!

As you can see above, now ORBIS Cleansing Liquid comes in limited edition design featuring Moomin. So cute right!!! It's retailing at $22.90 for 150ml and $42.90 for 380ml and is available over all ORBIS counters and store (Robinsons Orchard and Junction 8).

Do join ORBIS Facebook page to find out more about their products and promotion. :)

Disclosure: The product in this review is sent by the company for my review and consideration. All opinions stated are my own honest views and no compensation is received for this review.

Chanel Spring 2014 Collection: Cream Blush in Intonation and Glossimer in Sonate

Another Spring Collection that I can't miss is definitely Chanel. In fact, me and Jacq has been eyeing this collection for a while and during our Jo Malone date, both our pockets are burnt by Chanel too! Lol. I have picked up cream blush in Intonation, lip glossimer in Sonate, eyeshadow quad in Quadrille and Illusion D' Ombre in Diapason.

I will leave the posting on the eye products in another post after playing more with them so let's talk about Intonation and Sonate this round!

Intonation is a limited edition shade from the cream blush collection and honestly the strong coral shade in the pan does scare me off abit. But after swatching over the counter, I was drawn to the coral shade. After blending, it certainly does not look as scary as I thought.
From left to right: Heavily swatched, blended

Initially I did think that Intonation is very close to Revelation which I already own so I made a comparison swatch below.
From left to right: Revelation, Intonation

You can see from the swatch above that Revelation is lighter with more brown tone. One thing which I thought is worth mentioning is that I did notice that my Revelation does look drier than Intonation. I do suspect it is due to usage and exposure to air? Not sure if anyone of you has the same experience as me, I would love to hear about it.

Next up on this post is lip glossimer in Sonate. Like I mention before, I am more of a lipstick gal BUT Sonate is soooo gorgeous that I have to have it!!

When applied to the lips, it made my lips look glossy and  very very slight redder (I have concluded it is almost impossible to let ANY gloss stand out on my pigmented lips, ha!). Good thing about Chanel glossimer, it doesn't feels sticky like MAC lipglass, which is great.

I will look into posting on the eye products that were purchased as well so do stay patient with me. In the meantime, I would love to hear your thoughts about the Chanel Spring Collection!

Dior Trianon Collection for Spring 2014 - Rouge Dior in 531 Rose Crinoline and Nail Vernis in 457 Bouquet

Spring is finally here and many collections have been launched by various brands. Our pocket is definitely screaming 'HELP' here but I simply cannot resist some of the items. Today's post is to share the 2 items that I purchased from Dior Trianon Collection for Spring 2014: Rouge Dior in 531 Rose Crinoline and Nail Vernis in 457 Bouquet.

Rouge Dior in 531 Rose Crinoline was a choice, courtesy of my man. He love the light nudish coral which is really quite pretty.

Rose Crinoline is almost non-existent on my natural pigmented lips, except for the tinge of light shade. Disappointingly, the beauty on the swatch disappears when I apply it on my lips. :(

Since it looks lighter than my natural lip colour, it is important for me to exfoliate my lips before application (which I clearly did not do it from the lip swatch below). The texture is smooth and non drying but for me with dry lips, it would definitely be better to apply some lip balm before application. The lasting power of Rouge Dior is around 4 hours, after a cup of coffee and sandwich for breakfast which is quite decent.

Next up in my purchase from Dior Trianon Collection is nail vernis in 457 Bouquet. This nail vernis is actually the main item that I wanted to purchase. I simply cannot resist the pink coral shade. Love it!

As you can see below, Dior's Rouge Dior in Rose Cironline and Nail Vernis in Bouquet are also 'Eden-approved'. My princess knows her stuffs too!!

Dolce & Gabbana Luminous Cheek Colour in Rose

How is everyone's 2014 so far? Mine has been utterly crazy at work since 2 Jan and I'm somewhat sick just thinking about it. Thank goodness there are fun (and enablers) friends around that divert my attention to beautiful and happy things.

This post is yet another blush post because for some reason I'm on a blush high. Here I have Dolce & Gabbana Luminous Cheek Colour in Rose which had to be purchase online from Saks.com. for USD45.

Rose is a earthly pink shade which in my personal opinion might not work very well for ladies with fair complexion. I thought it will look abit muddy, but of course there is no right or wrong in makeup, what matters most is you liking it. :)

The texture of Dolce & Gabbana Luminous Cheek Colour is fine and smooth and it's not difficult to pick up the pigment with my MAC or Hakuhodo brushes. The only peeve for us would be that it's not available over our counters.
